The piano Prince plays on the album is a Pegasus grand piano formed of black fibreglass with integrated stool, a stylish model built to a cost of £70,000 by Schimmel, a renowned German producer of high-end pianos since 1885. One Nite Alone… was recorded at Paisley Park Studios during the spring of 2001 during the studio sessions for The Rainbow Children.
